Description

Facsimile edition of a volume of 288 pages and 21 x 28 cm published in Leuven in 1480. Its author, Pierre d’Ailly, summarizes the cosmographic knowledge of the time, especially the ideas of Ptolemy. It contains 18 treatises that include beautiful drawings and diagrams reproduced with the techniques and colors of the time.

This facsimile edition, extraordinarily published in 1990 by the Testimonio publishing house, is made from the copy that belonged to Christopher Columbus, with 898 handwritten notes of the Admiral and that of his son Hernando, preserved in the Capitular and Columbian Library of Seville.

The binding is in Mudejar style leather with gold-plated studs. The two complementary volumes of 816 and 288 pages have an introduction and translation by Antonio Ramírez de Verger and a study by Juan Pérez de Tudela.

Complete, new, brand new copy, from an edition of 980 numbered and certified copies.
