Blessed Manchester went from Spain to France in 1869, auctioned in Paris with other books in the collection of the Marquis of Astorga and Count of Altamira. Carolina letter written in late-pregótica. It Contains 123 beautiful full-page miniatures illuminated with gold and silver.

Certainly, from the point of view of his illustrations, this is the most sumptuous of all those Blessed exist and the only complete, since it has not been mutilated any of its pages. By facsimile of the codex is accompanied by an art book that includes a codicological and iconographic study by Prof. Dr. Peter K. Klein.

The Commentary on the Apocalypse of St. John was written by Beatus of Liebana, Asturian monk, in the year 776. The various manuscripts that convey the “Commentary on the Apocalypse” is illustrated in various monasteries for centuries X, XI, XII. They are exemplary luxury, copied and decorated for kings and magnates. This series of manuscripts has been called them all as Blessed de Liebana, each original, different, a gem and a work of medieval and religious art with its own personality.

The original is an illuminated manuscript of the twelfth century, written in Latin with carolina-pregoltic letter.

This extraordinary facsimile of one of the most beautiful specimens of the series of Blesseds, was made in 2001, bound in dark leather on board, decorated in dry, and with brass fittings and closures. Format 34.5 x 46.5 cm. 502 pages containing 123 miniatures illuminated with gold and silver.
Single edition, limited to 999 copies, numbered and authenticated by notary.
The publisher delivers it with an open methacrylate case. We deliver this copy, complete and in perfect condition, presented in a beautiful box-case made of handmade brown leather, spine with nerves, decoration and titles in gold, brown fabric interior. Format 40 x 51 x 10 cm.

The complementary study book was edited in bilingual Spanish and English, bound in hard cover with an illustrated cover. Format 25 x 34 cm. 322 pages.
