Description

Facsimile edition made in 2005 by the Moleiro publishing house of the manuscript Add.Ms.35313 of the English National Library (The British Library, London). Original dated about the year 1500.

The miniatures in this exceptional Book of Hours are the work of Gerard Horenbout, the best Flemish miniaturist of the 16th century, and of Sanders Bening and his workshop, who painted most of the portraits of the Suffrage of Saints.

The sumptuousness of the manuscript indicates that it was a real commission. References to San Juan Bautista, San Juan Evangelista, S. Ildefonso and S. Isidoro point to someone of Spanish royalty: Juana I of Castilla, Juana la Loca.
