Description

Cantigas de Santa Maria of Alfonso X the Wise, Florence manuscript. Conclusion or second part of the facsimile edition of the codex “rich” Escorial of the Cantigas de Santa Maria of Alfonso X the Wise, the late thirteenth century, composed of reproduction, also in full facsimile, MS. BR20 of the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale in Florence (264 pages 32 x 45 cm.), Which is the immediate continuation, though unfinished, any other, with the same materials and formal characteristics, plus a supplementary volume of 208 pages of it transcription format text and music of the songs containing the translation of the first studies and reviews of historical-critical character and an iconographic and stylistic analysis of its 530 miniatures, borders and 103 Chapter 88, written by Ana Dominguez Rodriguez and Agustin Santiago Luque.

The Florentine Codex was never finished and left unfinished. In it you can see the process of making the lighting, making it ideal for the codex of El Escorial complement and tenure, the entire work of this commission emblematic of Alfonso X the Wise.

The two volumes, bound in leather and fabric, are presented in a box-case matching to match them with the facsimile of the “rich codex” of El Escorial, since Florence is somewhat smaller.

Florence manuscript copies are scarcer to find in the secondary market. This sample is a way to get one because the edition is sold out for years.
