Description
Facsimile edition of the Junta de Extremadura of the original copy of 1554 and printed in Medina del Campo of the work of the Spanish picaresque “The life of Lazarillo de Tormes and his fortunes and adversities”, published in 1997.
The discovery of the 1554 copy, printed in Medina del Campo, at the end of 1995 in the town of Barcarrota (Badajoz province) is worthy of a mystery movie. Reading the little study book about him will make you not stop until the end.
The Junta de Extremadura published this copy in facsimile format in a presentation that was too poor for the literary and historical importance of this work, since it became the fourth original copy from 1554, each one printed in a different locality, and like the first editions known.
For this reason, we have re-bound this copy in a very luxurious and highly Bibliophile format, making it a unique and exclusive copy, bound by hand in leather with lomera and planes decorated in gold and in color, spine ribs, 2 weaves, tinted edges. Format 10.5 x 14.8 cm. 134 pages illustrated with vignettes of the time and capital letters, with texts in Spanish from the 16th century and with somewhat difficult to read typography.
The small study book that accompanies it is bound in paperback with flaps, format 10 x 14.3 cm. 48 pages with texts by Jesús Cañas Murillo, from the University of Extremadura.
Exemplary of luxury and in perfect condition.
