Description

Complete collection of the monumental Edition commemorating the V Centenary of the great Spanish feat of the First circumnavigation of the Earth carried out between 1519 and 1522 by Juan Sebastián de Elcano and Ferdinand Magellan (who died during the journey), made up of four corpuses documentaries, limited to 500 copies for the entire world and numbered with a notarial certificate, all having the same number. Edited by Taberna Libraria in 2022.

Facsimile reproduction of the different selected documentary corpuses, each accompanied by its corresponding volume of studies with research by eminent specialists and presented in luxurious wooden cases and silk folders.

The first circumnavigation of the Earth (1519-1522) is probably the greatest nautical feat in history. It is the indisputable glory of Spain to have sponsored and financed that enterprise, which opened a new Ocean to world trade and made possible, over time, centuries-old traffic from Manila to Acapulco. The portentous journey has remained inextricably linked to the memory of two characters: Fernando de Magellan, the man who discovered the strait and gave its name to the Pacific, and Juan Sebastián de Elcano, the sailor who with the “Victoria”, the only one left of The five ships that departed from Seville, made their journey in Sanlúcar de Barrameda after an amazing crossing through a wide gulf.
