XII"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the Library of the Cathedral of Pamplona there existed in the 17th century a codex that contained the exposition to the Apocalypse of Beato de Li\u00e9bana, as the Jesuit P. Jos\u00e9 Moret tells us in 1665, in his work \u201cHistorical investigations of the antiquities of the Kingdom of Navarra\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Currently there is no such \u201cBlessed\u201d in the Library of the Chapter of the Navarrese Cathedral. It seems that the book was stolen from its shelf in the mid-19th century, and it can be identified, with high probability, with the one existing in the National Library of France, Nouv. Acq. The t. 1366, since its writing and illuminations prove a Spanish origin; although the most convincing argument for its Navarrese origin is a document glued to the inside of the binding, from King Charles III of Navarre, addressed to the bishop of Dax, Juan Bauses, and the prior of Roncesvalles, Miguel de Tavar, in 1389.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The immediate history of the codex is that it was purchased in Spain by a bookseller from Lyon, then by another from Milan and finally by a third from Paris, from whom the National Library of France bought it in 1879, as L. Delisle tells in \u201c Les manuscrits de l&#8217;apocalypse de B\u00e9atus\u201d in M\u00e9langes de pal\u00e9ographie et de bibliographie, Paris, 1880.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Technical characteristics of the facsimile edition:<br \/>\nOriginal from the 12th century preserved in the National Library of France.<br \/>\nFormat of the work: 25 x 35.5 cm. 316 pages, of which 63 are miniaturized. Text in two columns and 36 lines. Gothic transition Carolina letter.<br \/>\nSpecial aged parchment paper, collected, folded and hand-sewn.<br \/>\nLeather binding on board with studs and 2 leather closures on the edge.<br \/>\nHistorical, artistic and paleographic study volume, bound in hardcover with full color dust jacket, guide tape. Format 24.5 x 34 cm. 168 pages with color illustrations.<br \/>\nFacsimile and study book are presented in a book-style box-case, covered in brown microfiber fabric with gold titles, format 28.5 x 39 x 11 cm.<br \/>\nSingle edition of 995 copies, numbered and authenticated by notarial act.
