In one of these scenes, several characters appear playing golf, so the manuscript was named after the curiosity of the scene and the game it represents.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The author of this beautiful codex was Simon Bening, son of another great artist of the XV century: Alexander Bening. Simon Bening was born in 1483 or 84 in Ghent. Around 1500 he began to work between Bruges and Ghent, but by 1519 he settled definitively in Bruges (Flanders). In his workshop, numerous hour books were produced, all of them impressive, for high-ranking people from all over Europe. He was undoubtedly the most important miniaturist of his time.
