Lot consisting of a scale replica of El Cid’s chest housed in Burgos Cathedral, to which have been added a series of El Cid’s documents and two books on the famous poem El Cid.
The lot consists of the following:
Complete facsimile edition of the manuscripts “Document of Donation Made by El Cid Campeador” and “Document of Letter of Donation of Doña Jimena, Wife of El Cid,” the originals of which are kept in the Archive of Salamanca Cathedral. Numbered and limited to 890 copies, produced in 1992.
Notarized certificate with the copy number corresponding to the aforementioned edition, produced by Grupo de Arte y Bibliofilia. This testimony is accompanied by a text on the legend of the Cid’s Chest, which is kept as a relic in Burgos Cathedral.
Facsimile of the paleographic edition by D. Ramón Menéndez Pidal (1869-1968). 120 pages. ISBN: 9788436901740

Both books were published in 1977 by the Ministry of Education, bound in paperback, 15.5 x 22 cm.
All of this is housed in a faithful scale replica of the Cid’s Chest kept in Burgos Cathedral, made of wood with metal fittings, washers, handles, and a chain, measuring 35 x 18 x 10 cm.
The entire set is in perfect condition, unused.
The Poem of My Cid is a facsimile edition published in 1992 by the publishing house Grupo de Arte y Bibliografía, in collaboration with the National Library.
