Quixotes Collector’s Manual, 100 Essential Editions, by Justo Fernández Bargues and José Manuel Lucía Megías. An essential guide to building a magnificent collection of Quixotes from the current supply on the world market.

Synopsis:

The Don Quixotes Collector’s Manual, with its 100 essential editions, is a gateway to the extraordinary world of Cervantine collecting, of the Cervantophile universe.

Made from the experience accumulated by two collectors of the XXI century and published in 2020. A manual to move with certain security in the stormy jungle of the editions and emissions of the Cervantes work that is currently offered on the market, thanks to their descriptions, collector’s curiosities, assessment of the importance of the selected editions and their rarity in the market, as well as a list of bibliographic alternatives for more accessible pieces.

Authors:

Jose Manuel Lucia Megías. He is one of the most recognized Cervantes of our time. A student of medieval and Renaissance chivalric books, he came to Don Quixote by the hand of its iconography, studying and making known thousands of his engravings, drawings and paintings from the origins to the present time (he is the director of the digital platform Banco de images of Don Quixote, and author of more than thirty publications on the subject). His Cervantes investigations have resulted in one of the most innovative biographies of Cervantes in recent times, in three volumes.

Justo Fernández Bargues. Born in Cuenca 64 years ago, he graduated in Law from the University of Deusto. Professionally he has dedicated himself to the management of insurance companies until his retirement in 2008. His initial love of books was transformed over time into quixotic collecting, which in recent years has become his main activity.
