Between 1988 and 1991 a limited collection of postage stamps of Spain made in sterling silver plated with 22 karat gold sold. The collection, called Encounter of Two Worlds, was a preview of the celebrations of the Quincentennial of the Discovery of America. It’s a great postcard collection, philatelic and historical value, very difficult to achieve full day today and in such excellent condition as provided herein. The price at which it is offered for sale is far below the real value of the collection, with an exceptional opportunity to seize it.

The collection was made with the sponsorship of the Postal Museum and the British company Hallmark Replicas Ltd., who years later would conduct the Securities Royal collection with stamps and banknotes silver and gold. This collection also featured a foreword by HM Juan Carlos I in the script collection.

The characteristics of this collection are summarized in the following:

12,500 limited edition collections for both domestic and international markets, being unused matrices and held by the Postal Museum.

Each game in the collection is composed of 25 stamps sterling silver plated with 22 carat gold and a thickness of 2.2 mm. Each is engraved on the back contrasting the official Spanish State, guaranteeing the purity of the materials used.

The manufacture of the parts was made possible through a complicated process of highest quality craftsmanship. Each piece is enshrined in a press 160 tons of pressure and finally the tooth is cut with a diamond for perfect reproduction of the original.

The collection consists of:

25 life-size reproductions of as many postage stamps of Spain on the common theme of the New World, made in sterling silver plated gold, entirely new and in perfect condition.
A leather case, locked stamped in gold and lined by fine velvet inside, with its molded for placement of each of the pieces in perfect tray.
A copy of the book The Discovery: Encounter of Two Worlds, a special edition for this collection back and bound in leather and gilt edges, in perfect condition.
A booklet with the characteristics of the edition and the prologue of HM the King.
Jewelry cloth for the care and cleaning of the reproductions.
A mother-tongue to manipulate without touching the reproductions.
Certificate of authenticity with the inclusion of the issue of the collection.
