Jan Steen was born in Leiden (Netherlands) and is known worldwide for their everyday scenes and humor in his work. Steen was a prolific painter especially animated scenes of taverns and children, but also painted landscapes, portraits, and religious subjects. Daily life was one of the main themes of Jan Steen. Many of the scenes he portrayed are lively to the point of reaching a chaotic fun show.
