Leonardo Alenza y Nieto (1807-1845) was a prominent Spanish Romantic painter of the 19th century. This beautiful book presents a collection of 10 drawings from the series “Scenes in the Street” and 18 engravings under the title “Caprichos” (Whims) by Isidoro Rosell y Torres (1845-1879), based on Alenza’s drawings, of whom he was a great admirer.
The book is bound in a green silk hardcover with Romantic-style gold foil stamping. Format 22.5 x 32 cm, with 100 unpaginated pages printed on thick, cream-colored laid paper.
